Colorado Bound

Justin "J.T." Torres came to Boulder this weekend without a scholarship offer to CU but with high hopes as he examined the program. Coaches offered the powerful running back this morning and he accepted, becoming the 19th member of the 2010 class. Get inside for more.

Justin Torres was named CIF Co-Offensive Player of the Year rushing more than 100 times for more than 800 yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior at La Mirada High School.

Torres played for former CU quarterback Mike Moschetti, who helped him get on the CU's radar as well as interest from other schools.

Torres is exactly what the Buffs need at running back because, unlike players in the program now and other commits at the position in this class, he is a bigger back with some punch when he hits the hole.

Torres will likely play fullback in Boulder, but he is a versatile player who can be used as a tailback at times and as a receiver out of the backfield. He played tight end in some situations for Moschetti.

"They got a good one," Moschetti said. "They're excited, he's excited, I'm excited."

We'll have more with Torres after he completes his visit.
