Berglund out of opener

Brock Berglund was talking about the season opener for his Valor Christian team against Grandview High School way back in June. So whatever kept the Colorado commit out of action Friday night in a 28-19 loss, must be significant.

Brock Berglund led his team to the Class 3A state title a year ago. He visited a lot of schools and ultimately committed to Colorado in the offseason.

With his team making the jump to Class 4A this year and facing one of the elite teams in the state to start the season, one thing is sure, Berglund wanted to be on the field Friday.

There was no clear explanation for his absence after the game, and he wasn't available Friday evening to discuss his status.

We will continue to try to reach the future Buff to get the full story.
