Final MVC Tournament a Big One for CU

Preview Creighton's last Missouri Valley Conference tournament as coach Ed Servais and the baseball team prepare for a few games that could impact their NCAA tournament chances.

After clinching the three seed last weekend at home, Creighton heads to Normal, Illinois to defend its Missouri Valley crown. The Bluejays are playing in their final MVC tournament and enter as the back-to-back champion of the event.

What: Baseball opens the 2013 Missouri Valley Conference baseball tournament against Indiana State.

When: May 21-25. Game times are 9 am on 1180 Zone2 on Tuesday and 1620thezone.com. If the Jays win, they play in the winners bracket Wednesday at 4 p.m. and a loss means they play at 9 am again.

Where: Duffy Bass Field (1,000), Normal, Illinois

Why: Creighton can clinch a NCAA tournament berth for the third straight year by winning the tournament.

Series History: Indiana State swept the regular season series between the two that was played in Terre Haute. These two met to open last year's conference tournament.
