    Having worked for the Flyers two years ago, I quickly learned the consistent mantra at practices and in the huddle from the coaches: rebound! Player size and position was totally irrelevant. On defense, giving up an offensive rebound was a let down to the team, while on offense, not pursuing the rebound hard showed a lack of effort.

    The spring AAU circuit came to an end over the weekend with two of the most competitive tournaments. Dayton Insider was in attendance in North Carolina to watch the loaded field at the Bob Gibbons' Tournament of Champions. Indiana Elite won the 17 and Under title (their third title of the spring) and has set themselves up to be the country's top team heading into the summer evaluation period.

    With all the hype of AAU basketball and how the shoe companies sponsor every power AAU team in the country there are only a few players who go unnoticed during the evaluation period. Daimion is one of those players that chose to play for a smaller program and will not get the attention that he obviously deserves. Daimion is however a very big prospect and Coach Gregory has taken notice.

    This years Adidas May Classic was supposed to answer the biggest question of the early spring. Who is the best AAU team in the Country? This tournament was going to have 3 of the 4 teams who came away with victories in April and May at National events.     The noon tip-off left the Boardwalk Hall mostly filled with UD fans and they tried to help the team get over a difficult 1st half. The second half all went the Flyers way and not only did they erase the 7 point deficit at halftime but also dominated Charlotte and ended with an 18 point victory.

Monty Scott has a partial tear in his patellar tendon of his right knee and ends his career as a Flyer with just a hand full of games remaining.
