Catching Up With Jacob Pullen

The summer AAU circuit is over but things are just now starting to heat up for this point guard. Jacob Pullen, from Proviso East H.S. in Maywood, IL. is starting the process of narrowing down his list to 5 schools by September. Jacob made his first unofficial visit to Dayton this past weekend and Dayton Insider caught up with Jacob to get an update on his visit and see what his future plans are.

The 6'2 pg enjoyed his visit and when asked how it went said "It went well I got to see the campus, the dorms, and of course the gym." When asked what he liked about Dayton and the staff he said "I love the staff, Coach Gregory and Coach Billy Schmidt are both real cool and I like them a lot. It was also nice to shoot around with Chris Wright."

Everyone I talk to has said that Chris is great at talking to the other recruits. I then asked Jacob about this and also about his experience playing with Chris at the Nike All-American camp. "Nike camp was fun, he was right down the hall from me so we got a chance to talk a lot. It's also nice to play with someone that you can just throw the ball up by the rim and it doesn't matter if it's a good pass or not, he is going to go get it."

Jacob is going to visit a few more campuses around the country to see if they fit in his plans. "I am going to visit Kansas State on the 18th and then I'm going to visit both Oklahoma and St. Louis." Dayton Insider asked if he had anyone at the top of his list? He said, "No but my plan is to have a list of my top 5 schools by the first of September."

Jacob has received interest from Dayton, Nebraska, Iowa State, Marquette, Saint Louis, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Kansas State, and Southern Illinois.

Dayton Insider would like to thank Jacob for giving us time this afternoon. I will follow up with Jacob and report to the Flyer faithful after he announces his final list.
