Guard Enjoys Visit

Logan Jones is one of the better guards in the class of 2008 out of Indiana. Logan has been spending all of time in the gym and coaches are starting to take notice of the 6-1 point guard out of Madison, Indiana. He was recently on the campus of UD and Dayton Insider had a chance to catch up with Logan about his visit.

Logan Jones spent a few hours on the campus of the University of Dayton and he and his father came away impressed with both the facilities and the coaches. Asked what he liked the most about the facilities Logan responded with "the locker room is amazing". Logan also added "The visit was great we had a chance to see the campus and I also got a chance to meet all of the coaches. The visit was awesome and I like coach Gregory and coach Schmidt a lot."

Dayton Insider also had the chance to talk to John Riley, Logan's A.A.U. coach and he had nothing but positive things to say about his point guard. "Logan is known for having his best games in the big time situations. We won a handful of games this summer on shots in the last few seconds of a game. Logan was the one who hit these shots in each case. He is a player who wants the ball at the end of a tight game."

Logan played this past summer for the Southern Indiana Sharks and led them to a respectable 31 – 9 record over the summer. Logan was instrumental in leading his team to a second place finish at the prestigious adidas Super 64 tournament in Las Vegas. Logan led his team in scoring this past summer with a 16.8 scoring average and also contributed 5 assists and 4 rebounds a game for the Sharks.

Logan is currently working hard to get ready for his junior year at Madison. He led his high school team in scoring both as a freshman and a sophomore. Logan led in steals and ranked 5th in the state with an average of 2.9 steals a game.

Dayton Insider asked Logan what kind of interest he was getting from the coaches after his summer. "I am getting a lot of interest from Illinois State, Evansville, Indiana State, Valparaiso, Xavier, and Dayton."
