Kavanaugh Stays Home

For the 3rd straight year the Dayton Flyers have received a commitment from a local star. Matt Kavanaugh, a 6-foot-9, 225 pound power forward has given Coach Brian Gregory his verbal commitment to play for the Dayton Flyers in 2009.

Something must be in the Dayton water as this is the 3rd commitment from a local big man in as many years. Chris Wright was the first as he committed to the Dayton Flyers in November of 2005. Josh Benson followed in "Flyght" Wrights footsteps and gave his verbal to Coach Gregory in October of last year. Now Dayton has landed the Centerville prospect.

Matt had a very impressive year with the Centerville Elks last year averaging 13 points and almost 10 rebounds last year. Matt chose Dayton over interest from Miami (Offer), Purdue, West Virginia, and Wright State (Offer).

FlyerCountry.com would like to be the first to welcome Matt to the Dayton Flyer family.
