Crockett and Crete-Monee Win Sectional

Class of 2011 DePaul signee Jamee Crockett and Crete-Monee blew past Thornton in the fourth quarter to win the Thornwood sectional of the IHSA Class 4A playoffs tonight. In this report, we recap the game, have game video highlights and postgame interviews with Crockett.

While Thornton was able to close to within three points of Crete-Monee in the third quarter, it was Jamee Crockett who took over in the fourth quarter.

Crockett scored 11 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Crete-Monee Warriors to a 66-49 win over 13th ranked Thornton on Friday night to advance to Tuesday's Super-sectional against Normal in Normal.

‘That's what Jamie does," said Crete coach Matt Ryndak. "It sounds like we repeat the same script after every game. The bottom line is every kid that plays contributes. They know their role. They know what their job is."

Crockett scored 19 despite sitting out five minutes of the second quarter in foul trouble. Crockett's teammates held it together in his absence by holding the Wildcats to just four points in the second quarter.

Crete is now 25-3 and ranked 12th by the Chicago Sun-Times.
