Price is Right

Class of 2012 prospect Jodan Price has picked up three high major offers in the last week. The 6-7 170 lb. swingman is a smooth shooter. Price talks with us about his recruitment in this report.

In one week, Jodan Price collected scholarship offers from DePaul, Minnesota and Northwestern. The offers came in recognition of Price's performance on the court during the first July evaluation period. Prior to July, most of Price's interest came from mid-major schools. Now the high-major schools have started to take notice.

Where things took off for Price this week was his play with The Family at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam in North Augusta, South Carolina. On the first day at Peach Jam, Price nailed six shots from beyond the arc against the New Jersey Playaz. analyst Brian Snow described Price as "one of the best pure shooters in the class. Price has good length and a hair trigger, and usually when he shoots it, it is going in. He was torching the Playaz all game long, and finished with a team high 25 points."

Price is quite the marksman. He shot 41% from three point territory during his junior season at Detroit Country Day.

"I'm a big-time scorer," said Price. "I shoot the ball. I'm a tough player that never gives up."

A shooter is just what DePaul is looking for in the 2012 recruiting class. Head coach Oliver Purnell offered Price a scholarship yesterday.

With Purnell installing the high-tempo offense that he had at Clemson at DePaul, he's going to need more players like Price that can shoot the ball.

"DePaul says that I fit their offense, with running, shooting and scoring," said Price.

So far, Price has visited Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, and Northwestern and has plans to take more visits once the July AAU season is over.

"In August, I will start thinking about how I should do my visits," said Jodan.
