DePaul Looking at Juco Point Guard

With the loss of freshman point guard Shane Larkin last month, DePaul coach Oliver Purnell is looking at options to add some depth at point guard for this coming season. Learn more about a 2011 prospect in this report.

Junior college point guard Worrel Clahar is on DePaul's radar for 2011.

Clahar played two years at Lawson State junior college in Alabama. He originally hales from Covington, Georgia.

At Lawson State last season, Clahar averaged 12.2 points per game while shooting 48.4% from the floor, 48% on 3-pointers, and 77.2% from the free throw line. He dished out seven assists per game and averaged 3.9 steals per game.

Clahar was named first team all-conference in 2011 in the Alabama Community College Conference.

Clahar has not yet been admitted or enrolled at DePaul, but is showing interest in the Blue Demons. The Fall Academic Quarter begins on Wednesday.

If added for 2011, Clahar could give the Blue Demons some added depth at point guard where he could backup sophomore Brandon Young and senior Jeremiah Kelly.
