DePaul Adds Juco Point Guard for this Season

With the loss of freshman point guard Shane Larkin last month, DePaul coach Oliver Purnell moved quickly to add some depth at point guard for this coming season. Learn more about the prospect in this report.

Junior college point guard Worrel Clahar is expected to enroll at DePaul for the 2011 Fall Academic quarter. Clahar comes to DePaul from Lawson State junior college in Alabama. He is originally from Covington, Georgia.

At Lawson State last season, Clahar averaged 12.2 points per game while shooting 48.4% from the floor, 48% on 3-pointers, and 77.2% from the free throw line. He dished out seven assists per game and averaged 3.9 steals per game.

Clahar was named first team all-conference in 2011 in the Alabama Community College Conference.

Clahar will give the Blue Demons some needed depth at point guard where he will backup sophomore Brandon Young and senior Jeremiah Kelly.
