Sharpshooter Price Planning Visits

Class of 2012 prospect Jodan Price plans on visiting DePaul University in the near future. Learn more about the sharpshooter from Detroit in this report.

Jodan Price is narrowing things down with his recruitment. The Blue Demons offered the 6-7, 175 lb. wing prospect a scholarship over the summer. Price recently had an in-home visit with DePaul Coach Oliver Purnell.

"It went good," Price said of his meeting with Purnell. "He talked about the team and the school. Then when I come down there I'm going to see video and stuff like that, to see where I fit in with the team. He sees me at the two and wants me to be a big time shooter for the team. "

Purnell watched Price on the AAU circuit in July with The Family at Nike Peach Jam where Price averaged 18.4 points per game against some of the elite Nike programs from across the country.

Other schools on Price's radar include Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Hofstra, Lamar, St. Joseph's, and Western Michigan. The Detroit Country Day shooting guard is in the process of setting up visits with those schools. Price's uncle - Joseph Price is recruiting him to play at Lamar where he is an assistant coach.

Price, who is rated as a 3-star prospect by Scout.com, talked about what factors are important to him when deciding where he wants to play next season.

"Playing time when I come in, and a good academic program that can lead to getting a job," said Price who is interested in majoring in Communications in college.

Price is scheduled to be spending his birthday next weekend in Chicago on his official visit at DePaul.

Price, who compares himself to NBA shooters like Kevin Martin and Kevin Durant, is long and can flat out shoot the basketball.

"I feel my strength is shooting off the fast break," said Jodan. "I can play in a lot of styles. I can play in a half court set, but I like the running style."

"I can shoot the ball well," added Price. "I can play the combo guard position. I can take it to the basket, shoot outside, and bring energy. With The Family, I played shooting guard and small forward most of the time. I can play a little point guard too."
