Vince Hunter drove from Detroit, Michigan to Chicago on Saturday to see for himself what the DePaul campus is all about.
"It was real good," said Hunter. "We walked around the campus and I got to watch them practice. It was pretty good."
Hunter is ranked by Scout.com as the 98th best overall prospect in the class of 2013 and the 24th best power forward in the nation.
DePaul coach Oliver Purnell has one recruit lined up for 2013 in guard prospect Billy Garrett, Jr. and needs to add some size to his frontcourt for next season. An athletic forward like Hunter, who attacks the basket with reckless abandon, would fit right in the Blue Demons lineup for 2013.
"The coaches were telling me how I'd be a good part of the team," said Hunter.
While Hunter is undecided whether he will sign in the November signing period, three schools standout for him – DePaul, Long Beach State, and UTEP. Hunter is considering taking official visits to all three.
"I think my next official visit will be Long Beach State, the day they play North Carolina in November," said Vince. "I'm thinking heavily about giving DePaul a second visit."
Hunter, who tore up the AAU circuit this summer playing for the Detroit Stars, believes that he's unselfish and can fit into any offense.
"I'm coachable and a real team player," Hunter said.
