Game Preview

The Blue Demons will make the trip down the Dan Ryan expressway to Chicago State on Wednesday night.

We've also learned that Chicago State plans to announce on Wednesday that they are leaving the Great West conference for the Western Athletic Conference (WAC).

Former DePaul assistant Tracy Dildy is in his third year as the head coach at CSU and has his work cut out for him. He's coming off a season where the team finished 4-26 and 2-8 in the Great West.

CSU lists the Cougars' record as 2-7, but they have yet to beat a Division I opponent this season.

The Cougars are led in scoring by former Decatur Eisenhower star Jeremy Robinson. The 6-9 forward is averaging 12.3 ppg and is grabbing 7.6 rebounds per game. Robinson led the Great West in scoring last season.

They also feature Quinton Pippen, the nephew of former Bulls great Scottie Pippen, in the starting lineup. Pippen is averaging 8.3 points per game.

DePaul is 10-0 all-time against Chicago State. This will be DePaul's first time playing at CSU during the series.

If you're gambling on this game, you might want to take the over. Last year's score was 102-95.

The Blue Demons hope to build on Friday's win at Auburn in the Big East/SEC Challenge and keep things going in their non-conference schedule.

The Last Time

In a high scoring affair that featured very little defense, DePaul defeated Chicago State 102-95 at Allstate Arena on December 10th, 2011.

Sophomore forward Cleveland Melvin scored a career-high 30 points to lead all scorers.

Fellow sophomore Brandon Young managed just one point in the first half, but then came alive with 20 points in the second half to finish with 21 points, with three of six from beyond the arc, and seven assists.

Senior guard Jeremiah Kelly had a solid outing going five of nine from beyond the arc on his way to 19 points.

Freshman Jamee Crockett scored 11 points, blocked two shots, and had two steals.

Chicago State had five players finish in double-figures. Matt Samuels led the way with 20 points. Lee Fisher scored 19. Jeremy Robinson added 17 points and Aaron Williams contributed with 15 points. Clarke Rosenberg came off the bench to record a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds in the losing effort for the Cougars.
