Bartley Picks Up Offer

Decatur MacArthur point guard Marcus Bartley walked away from the DePaul team camp with a scholarship offer today. Hear what the class of 2014 standout has to say in this report.

On the first day of the high school team camp, Marcus Bartley impressed DePaul coach Oliver Purnell after just one game. Bartley added his third high-major offer to his collection.

"(Coach Purnell) just told me that he liked my game and that he was going to offer me a scholarship," Bartley said.

Bartley already has offers from Ilinois State, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, and Southern Illinois.

At 6-4, Bartley has length that serves him well on both offense and defense.

"I'm a true point guard that makes my teammates better," Marcus said. "I can score in a variety of ways. I'm probably a pass-first guy who can score too."

Bartley plans on majoring in Business and is also getting interest from Stanford where he plans to visit on August 1st.

Bartley found the first day of play at DePaul's team camp at ATTACK Athletics on Chicago's west side to offer a competitive environment.

"There's a lot of great competition here," said Marcus. "It's a good experience to be here. We played against a pretty good team earlier. We just have to keep working to get better at this camp."
