Cordell Henry comes to DePaul after working as an assistant coach at North Park University for the last year.
Henry was an assistant coach for the varsity team at North Park and served as head coach of their junior varsity team.
Prior to working at North Park, Henry was an assistant coach and personal trainer at his alma mater – Whitney Young High School in Chicago.
Cordell spent time playing professionally as a point guard with a number of NBA teams including the Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzles and Milwaukee Bucks. He also spent nine years overseas playing in France, Mexico, Portugal, the Dominican Republic, and Venezuela.
Henry is a 2002 graduate of Marquette University. He is among the top 25 all-time leader scorers for the Golden Eagles.
August 19 Update: Due to a problem involving the hiring process, Cordell Henry will not be hired to be a Graduate Assistant coach at DePaul. He has now returned to his former job as an assistant coach at North Park University in Chicago.
