Stimage Commits to DePaul

Former Farragut big man Rashaun Stimage committed to DePaul coach Oliver Purnell while on an official visit to the DePaul Lincoln Park campus. Learn more about this prospect in this report.

Rashaun Stimage is a 6-8, 225 lb. power forward at Daytona State junior college. He transferred to Daytona after spending his freshman year at Blinn junior college in Texas.

Stimage chose DePaul over interest from Cincinnati, St. Louis and Detroit.

DePaul coach watched Stimage play in a juco recruiting event in St. Louis last month and made Rashaun one of his top recruiting targets for 2014. Stimage now returns home to Chicago where he was a star at Farragut during his senior year.

Stimage will have two years of eligibility remaining.

"DePaul has done the best job of recruiting him," said Daytona State coach Ryan Ridder. "He's been a great addition to our team. He's a really good kid to be around. I've really enjoyed coaching him. He's working his tail off. He's already put on 10 pounds this summer. He's so skilled, what he does really well is score around the rim. He's definitely capable of putting the ball on the floor and shooting from the perimeter."

Stimage is DePaul's first verbal commit for 2014. The Blue Demons have two scholarships remaining in the class.
