Ivan Vujic was first hired as DePaul Director of Basketball Operations by then coach Jerry Wainwright in 2006. Vujic has numerous ties in the international basketball community. During his two year tenure at DePaul, the Croatian native helped land two of his fellow countrymen onto the DePaul roster – power forward Matija Poscic and shooting guard Mario Stula.
Vujic left DePaul in 2008 to become an assistant coach at Northwestern under head coach Bill Carmody. During his five years in Evanston, Vujic successfully recruited prospects like Kyle Rowley, Luka Mirkovic, Mislav Brzoja, and Alex Olah.
Prior to his hire at DePaul, Vujic was an assistant coach at his alma mater – Valparaiso University for one season. Ivan was a successful center for the Crusaders, who averaged 10.6 points and 5.7 rebounds in his senior year at Valpo.
