2016 point guard Ako Adams recently visited DePaul for the Big East Tip-Off Party that was televised on FOX Sports 1.
"Chicago was great," said Ako. "The school was amazing. The visit was great. I like the school, the academics are great. The coach is great. I like the team. They are very athletic and fast-paced. I liked the offense and how they coach the program."
The day after he visited DePaul, Adams travelled to New Jersey to play in the Pangos All-East Coast Frosh Soph Camp run by Dinos Trigonis.
"It was a good camp," said Adams. "There were a lot of scouts there. It was competitive and I made the Top 30 game."
Adams has scholarship offers from DePaul and Towson. He is also receiving interest from Maryland, Penn State, Rutgers, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.
"DePaul is a big one on my list right now." said Ako. "I'm just taking my time. I'm a sophomore. I'm not trying to rush it right now."
Adams projects out to be a point guard at the college level.
"My game is smooth," said Adams. "I play hard. I play off the ball and point guard with my high school team. Romelo Trimble is on my team, he's going to Maryland, he is primarily the point guard for the team. I play point guard when he's not playing it."
Adams plays for Bishop O'Connell High School in northern Virginia. His team was ranked number one in the Washington, D.C. Metro area by the Washington Post after finishing 30-7 last season.
"I really believe we can win it again and have a 2-peat," said Ako. "We lost LeRoy Butts (transfer to Clinton Christian Academy), but I still think we can pull it off."
Ako Adams is a Rising Star for 2016
