Doby Headed to the Big East for 2014

Montrose Christian Power Forward Raymond Doby plans on playing basketball in the Big East in 2014. Learn more about the young prospect in this report.

Raymond Doby, a 6-7 face-up power forward from Montrose Christian prep school, verbally committed to DePaul coach Oliver Purnell this morning while on an official visit to DePaul's Lincoln Park campus.

Doby originally hails from Cahokia, Illinois. He transferred from Trinity Catholic school in St. Louis to Montrose Christian after it was determined he was ineligible to play as a transfer from Christian Brothers school this season.

Doby gives the Blue Demons yet another member of the Mac Irvin Fire AAU team for their roster.

"(Doby is) always someone who could score with athleticism and strength inside," said analyst Brian Snow. "Doby is beginning to show ability outside as well. Doby hit a three, scored in the mid-range, and then also did some damage down low with his bread and butter. A good rebounder, Doby secured the glass and helped his team rally from a solid halftime deficit." analyst Evan Daniels describes Doby as "an energy guy with very good athleticism".

Ray Doby joins guard Jon Davis, forward Rashaun Stimage, and Illinois transfer Myke Henry to form the 2014 recruiting class for the Blue Demons.
