Quigley Signs Multi-Year Deal with WNBA Sky

Allie Quigley, the WNBA’s 2014 Sixth Woman of the Year, has signed a multi-year contract to remain with the Chicago Sky. Last season, Quigley came off the bench to help the Sky clinch its second playoff berth in franchise history and the 2014 Eastern Conference Championship. Per team policy, contract terms were not disclosed.

"Allie's shooting accuracy, combined with her improvement off the bounce was instrumental in our run for a title,” said Sky Head Coach and General Manager Pokey Chatman. “I'm ecstatic to have another veteran presence, with an unmatched work ethic on board."

Quigley dominated off the bench in 2014, leading the Sky in scoring during a team-high nine games. She also led the team in double-digit scoring performances, scoring in double figures on 21 occasions including two 20-plus point games (7/13 at Atlanta, 8/7 at Minnesota). Quigley appeared off the bench in 33-of-34 games for the Sky this season and earned the first start of her career on June 10 against Seattle.

Throughout 2014, Quigley set new career-highs and ranked in the top ten in the WNBA for Free-throw percent (.879) and Three-point percent (.387). Quigley’s career-highs set in 2014 included: field goal’s made (12) field goal’s attempted (22), three-point field goals made (3, five times) and points (27 at Atlanta on 7/13). The 5-foot-10 guard averaged 24.8 minutes per game, doubling her career average in minutes played, and has more than doubled her career averages for points (11.2ppg, her previous high was 3.8 in 2013), rebounds (2.2rbg, her previous high was 0.8 in ’08 and ’09) and assists (1.9apg, her previous high was 0.6 in 2013).

The six-year pro was born and raised in Joliet, Illinois and graduated from DePaul University. Quigley is one of just four players in DePaul Blue Demons' history to score over 2,000 points in her career. After being selected by the Seattle Storm in the second round of the 2008 Draft, she played on four different teams before finding a home with the Chicago Sky in 2013. Currently, Quigley is playing for Wisla Can-Pack Krakow in the Polish League where she is averaging 14.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game alongside Sky teammate Courtney Vandersloot.

The Sky opens the 2015 Season on June 5 at Allstate Arena when they host the Indiana Fever in a rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference Finals. Prior to tip-off, the team will unveil its 2014 Eastern Conference Championship banner. - See more at: http://www.wnba.com/sky/playerresigning_quigley.html#sthash.xLQ5LMtq.dpuf
