Elijah Cain Commits to DePaul

Eli Cain, a 6-6 wing from New Jersey verbally committed to DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell this afternoon.

Elijah Cain has been considered one of the top five available small forwards in the Class of 2015 by Scout.com.

The senior from St. Benedict’s Prep in Newark has seen his stock rise during his senior year.

Cain had verbally committed to Delaware in the fall, but then backed off on his pledge to the Blue Hens.

Eli took an official visit to DePaul’s Lincoln Park campus on March 4th.

He was also receiving interest from Delaware, Iona, Rutgers, Seton Hall, and Wagner.

Scout.com recruiting analyst Evan Daniels likes Cain as a good pickup for the late signing period. “Cain has good size for the perimeter at 6-foot-6, has a long set of arms and is a quality athlete,” said Daniels. “He has potential as a defender as well. Cain is a nice looking option late in the game.”

Cain joins Oumar Barry, Raymond Doby, and Develle Phillips in the Class of 2015 for the Blue Demons.
