Coach Search: Who to Watch in the Tournament

The NCAA Tournament is already underway with the First Four in Dayton. It begins in earnest on Thursday. In this report, we look at which coaches in the tournament are ones to watch as prospects for the DePaul job.

Bryce Drew – Valparaiso

The one thing missing from Drew’s resume is a NCAA Tournament win. That will be very difficult to obtain against Romelo Trimble and the Terrapins.

Bobby Hurley – Buffalo

It’s Hurley’s first trip to the Dance. We’ll see how he fares against West Virginia and Bob Huggins.

Will Brown – Albany

Brown has taken the Great Danes to the NCAA Tournament five times.

Marvin Menzies – New Mexico State

It will be Menzies’ fifth trip to the Tournament. His resume is one of a consistent winner.

Shaka Smart – VCU

Hey, I can dream, can’t I?

Brad Underwood - Stephen F. Austin

Underwood upset VCU in last year’s tournament. Can he do it again versus a very good Utah Utes team?

Jerod Haase – UAB

A young guy who is a rising star in the coaching ranks.

Every year, someone pulls off a Cinderella run in the tournament. Stay tuned to your televisions to see which coach does it this year. You never know, he could end up at DePaul.
