According to Scout.com’s Brian Snow, Dave Leitao has reached out to a former colleague from his days at Missouri. Leitao will name Xavier assistant Rick Carter as his new associate head coach.
Carter has worked as an assistant coach at Xavier, Missouri, Western Michigan, Fairfield, and Michigan State.
Carter is known for his recruiting prowess throughout the Midwest.
He is also known for developing Xavier center Matt Stainbrook, who he coached at both Western Michigan and Xavier.
Carter will be hitting the recruiting trail for the DePaul Blue Demons this weekend as the first spring evaluation period begins.
Rick is a native of Michigan, a 2002 graduate of Michigan State, and has also served as an AAU coach with the Michigan Mustangs.
