"It's been nice. I like all of the coaches. They're good coaches and they're nice to talk to. It's just good to meet with them," Verge said of DePaul's Elite Camp. "Everything is good. Just coming here, getting some work in, tweak some things that I need to work on. So it's been good for me."
Besides the scholarship offer from DePaul, Verge also claimed offers from Illinois, Oregon and Providence. Of the Blue Demon offer, Verge is happy to have the support of a local program.
"It's nice, I'm just appreciative of it," Verge said.
Verge broke out on the basketball scene last season as he had a number of high scoring performances for Willowbrook. But next season, Verge will play his junior season at another school.
"I'm making my decision next week. I just found out I have a full ride to this high school in Florida. So I don't know what I'm going to do yet," Verge said.
When asked if he would return to Willowbrook were he to stay in the Chicagoland area, Verge said, "It would be somewhere else."
This spring and summer, Verge came off the bench and played in 24 games for the St. Louis Eagles. The team made the title at the Peach Jam this July as Verge turned some heads with some good games off the bench.
"It was fun playing with them. It was just a good experience for me. Peach Jam, that was one of the best experiences I've had. It was fun for me, I was getting more exposure. I had a good time overall," Verge said.
It's still early in the recruiting process for Verge at this point since he hasn't even started his junior season, but he's still looking for a couple of things in his future school.
"Education-wise. That comes first then I'm just going to see how it goes from there. Just the surroundings and wherever I fit in best," Verge said.
