Nathan Reuvers Stands Out at DePaul Camp

One of the standout players at the DePaul Elite Camp was Class of 2017 Minnesota native Nathan Reuvers, a 6-foot-9 inside-outside threat who can make plays all over the floor.

After the camp, Nathan Reuvers ended up with a scholarship offer from DePaul and he already has previous offers from Boston, Duquesne, Green Bay, North Dakota, San Diego, Santa Clara, South Dakota State, UNC Greensboro and Yale.

Enjoying his camp experience, Reuvers had a solid team that included Class of 2017 guards Markell Johnson and Cole Van Handorf, who both also own DePaul scholarship offers.

"I thought it was great. I've been to a few camps before and I thought this camp was one of the better ones I had been to," Reuvers said. "People were actually sharing the ball and that doesn't always happen when you go to a camp."

A unique player because of his shooting touch from the perimeter, Reuvers can give a team a stretch option at the four with his ability to stretch the floor.

"I developed my game on the outside first and now I'm really trying to go inside, as I am 6-9, so that's something I have to do," Reuvers said.

A great July with the Minnesota Fury gave Reuvers five new offers and he’s been hearing from over 25 coaches during a very busy recruiting process.

"It's really cool that all of these coaches have contacted me. It's really cool to meet these coaches and they all want you to come and visit," Reuvers said.

Academics are going to stand out in the Reuvers recruitment and he had three older siblings attend Notre Dame, so he has a family connection to staying in the Midwest. DePaul made a big impression on Reuvers during the Elite Camp and he's hoping to learn more about the school going forward.

"I thought it was great. I like the facilities. I'd definitely like to check out their main arena where the men play," Reuvers said.

Of course as a class of 2017 recruit Reuvers would never play in that arena, as the Blue Demons will soon be breaking ground on a new arena in the South Loop which will open up in 2017.
