DePaul Learns Big East Schedule

CHICAGO – The BIG EAST Conference unveiled the 2015-16 conference schedule Tuesday as well as TV assignments for FOX and CBS coverage with the Blue Demons hosting Georgetown on Dec. 30 to open the league slate. The annual New Year’s Marathon on FS1 is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 2 this season and the conference schedule concludes at Madison Square Garden with the BIG EAST Tournament on March 9-12.

The Blue Demons face Georgetown twice in their first four BIG EAST contests. The Hoyas visit Allstate Arena on Wednesday, Dec. 30 before DePaul makes the return trip on Washington, D.C. on Saturday, Jan. 9. Both matchups will be televised on FS1.

DePaul travels to Seton Hall for the first game of the New Year’s Marathon on Saturday, Jan. 2. Start time is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET at the Prudential Center in Newark followed by four more conference games on FS1. The five-game slate airs over 12-plus hours on FS1 with Butler at Xavier (1 p.m. ET), St. John’s at Providence (3:30 p.m. ET), Marquette at Georgetown (5:30 p.m. ET) and Villanova at Creighton (10 p.m. ET).

The Blue Demons return home for a Jan. 5 game against Butler prior to the game at Georgetown. Following the Georgetown game, DePaul plays at Xavier on Jan. 12 before hosting Creighton on Jan. 17.

DePaul plays three games over the final 12 days of January as the Blue Demons travel to Marquette (Jan. 20) and Butler (Jan. 27) before Xavier makes the trip to Rosemont on Jan. 30. The Xavier games marks the halfway point through the conference schedule and the Blue Demons host five of the final nine games of the regular-season.

February opens with a home game against Providence (Feb. 2), a road game at Creighton (Feb. 6) and a home game against Villanova (Feb. 9). DePaul gets a week off before playing at St. John’s on Feb. 17, but face a quick turnaround and host Marquette on Saturday, Feb. 20.

Just over a week after the first meeting, the Blue Demons and Red Storm square off for the second regular-season meeting on Thursday, Feb. 25 at Allstate Arena.

The final eight days of the regular season feature back-to-back road games at Providence (Feb. 27) and Villanova (March 1) prior to the finale on Saturday, March 5 against Seton Hall.

DePaul’s regular-season television slate totals 14 games on FS1 with 10 league games and four non-conference games on the channel. The home games against Chicago State (Dec. 5), Little Rock (Dec. 12), Northwestern (Dec. 19) and George Washington (Dec. 22) will also be televised on FS1.

Five games are scheduled to be televised on FOX Sports Regional Networks and as many as seven games will be seen on CBS Sports Network. A Chicago affiliate for FOX Sports Regional Networks is to be determined with games against Western Michigan (Nov. 14), Butler (Jan. 5), Creighton (Feb. 6), Marquette (Feb. 20) and Seton Hall (March 5) on the channel.

DePaul’s confirmed games on CBS Sports Network include the game against South Carolina (Nov. 20) in the Paradise Jam, Butler (Jan. 27), Xavier (Jan. 30), St. John’s (Feb. 17) and Providence (Feb. 27). With a win over South Carolina in the Virgin Islands, DePaul’s final two games at the Paradise Jam will also be televised on CBS Sports Network.

The Nov. 17 game at Penn State as part of the inaugural Gavitt Tipoff Games has been picked up by ESPNU. The game will be part of ESPN’s College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon staring at 5 p.m. ET.

Additional television information and changes will be announced as it becomes available along with DePaul’s 2015-16 radio broadcast schedule.
