DePaul Wraps Up Paradise Jam

The Blue Demons (2-3) wrapped up their trip to the Virgin Island for the Paradise Jam tournament on Monday afternoon with a 82-78 win over Norfolk State (1-4).

DePaul withstood a red hot 10 for 14 3-point shooting effort from NSU in the second half to come away with the win.

Junior point guard Billy Garrett, Jr. scored 22 points, dished out seven assists, and had zero turnovers in the winning effort for the Blue Demons. 

After being held out of the game against Florida State on Saturday night, Tommy Hamilton came back with a vengeance scoring 20 points, and grabbing five rebounds off the bench for DePaul.  Hamilton went a perfect eight for eight from the field and two for two from three point territory.  

Myke Henry secured the win with a key defensive move by blocking a shot with 3.1 seconds remaining in the game. 

Aaron Simpson contributed 12 points off the bench for the Blue Demons

DePaul finished the Paradise Jam with a 1-2 record after dropping two games to high-major opponents.

The Blue Demons were defeated by the Florida State Seminoles 83-67 on Saturday night.  

Aaron Simpson came in off the bench to score 20 points in the losing effort.  Myke Henry scored 15 points, while Billy Garrett Jr. added 12 points.

DePaul lost 76-61 to the South Carolina Gamecocks in the opening round of the tournament on Friday night. Darrick Wood came in off the bench to score 14 points.

The Blue Demons now return to Chicago, and have a over a week off for the Thanksgiving Day holiday, before they travel to crosstown rival UIC on Wednesday December 2nd
