DePaul’s Eli Cain Named to Big East All-Freshman Team

DePaul guard Eli Cain was named to the Big East’s All-Freshman Team as determined by the league’s coaches.

Cain averaged 10.2 points per game and shot 43.8 percent overall from the floor. He also leads the Big East in three point field goal percentage at 43.7 percent from beyond the arc.

In Big East play, Cain was the third highest scoree among the league’s freshmen.  Only Marquette’s Henry Ellenson and Haanif Cheatham scored more than Cain.

Cain is the eighth DePaul player to be named to the Big East All-Freshman Team.

Billy Garrett Jr. (2014), Tommy Hamilton (2014), Brandon Young (2011), Cleveland Melvin (2011), Dar Tucker (2008), Mac Koshwal (2008), and Wilson Chandler (2006) had all previously been selected to the team.
