North Lawndale Wins 2016 DePaul Team Camp

The North Lawndale College Prep Phoenix are the 2016 champions of the DePaul Team Camp.  The Phoenix won the title by defeating the Richards Bulldogs by a 40-29 margin.

North Lawndale and Richards both advanced to the title game by pulling off upsets of perennial Chicago Public League powers.  North Lawndale defeated Simeon while Richards beat Morgan Park in the semifinals.

North Lawndale junior guard David Forrest and senior guard Carlos Hines were named Co-Most Valuable Players of the Team Camp.

It was the seventh annual camp for the Blue Demons.  35 high school teams from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin competed in the camp over a two day period.

The camp gave DePaul head coach Dave Leitao and his coach staff an opportunity to evaluate some of the best high school talent from throughout the Midwest.
