DePaul Wraps Up 2nd Annual Elite Camp

DePaul men’s basketball coach Dave Leitao hosted his second annual elite camp on Saturday.

This year Leitao expanded the size of the camp to over 70 players.  Prospects came from all throughout the Midwest and even as far away as the east coast.  Some of the best talent in the 2018 and 2019 recruiting classes were at the camp.

Among those present were:

Markese Jacobs - 2019 guard from Uplift High in Chicago.  Jacobs already has scholarship offers from DePaul, Illinois, and Kansas.

Talen Horton-Tucker - 6-4 big bodied wing from Chicago Simeon in the 2018 recruiting class. He received a scholarship offer at DePaul’s Team Camp in June.

Trevian Williams -  2018 big man from Michigan who also has an offer from DePaul.

EJ Liddell - the 2019 power forward from Belleville West earned himself a scholarship offer from Leitao with his performance at the camp.

Kezo Brown - 6-2 guard from Chicago Simeon for the 2018 class.

Chase Adams - 5-5 junior point guard from Marian Catholic.

Elijah Joiner - 2017 guard who played alongside current Blue Demon Devin Gage as their Curie Condors team won the 2016 IHSA Class 4A State championship.

Demarius Jacobs - 2017 guard prospect who is the older brother and teammate of Markese Jacobs.

Marquise Walker - Walker, a 6-0 point guard, was a standout in his freshman season at St. Joseph’s High School.

Long Distance Award

The player who travelled the furthest to reach the camp was 2018 point guard Shandon Brown.  Brown, who already has a DePaul offer, is from Massachusetts.  Shandon’s father drove 15 hours each way this weekend.

Sleeper Alert

Hunter Strait, a 6-0 point guard from Iowa for 2018, displayed some great passing skills at the camp.  Strait has received interest from Drake and Northern Iowa.

Special thanks to Coach Leitao and his coaching staff for a well organized and successful camp.
