Thijin Moses: Stock is Up

In previous reports I've told you that Jerry Wainwright is making a priority of getting himself a wing in the recruiting class of 2006. I have also stated that getting local kids is on that to do list. So it's only natural that Wainwright and the staff have interest in Thijin Moses.

Moses is 6'8" 180 pound forward who by way of the Sudan will be prepping at the new Boys to Men Math & English Academy in Chicago, Illinois this coming season. Moses is an extremely skinny kid. But don't let his frame fool you. Moses can hold his own. And when I saw him at the Reebok ABCD camp he showed a deft touch from the perimeter and good activity around the hoop.

Moses is a humble kid and a man of few words. But DePaul is showing interest and Moses said there has been contact. "I have spoken to them," said Moses. "But as soon as I get back to Chicago, I want to start talking to them (in detail) and then hopefully I can go check out the campus and see if I like it. And I'll make my decision from there."

Does Moses see himself fitting in at DePaul? "I've got to go over there," remarked Thijin. "Once I go to DePaul and look at the staff and look at their players, and hopefully I can fit a role."

When asked if any other schools are heavily involved with his recruitment, he said there was not. has reported that Moses has received scholarship offers from DePaul and Marquette.

Moses has an open mind. "I'm just still waiting until whatever comes out," stated Thijin. "I'll be hoping to go talk to whoever is looking at me."

Thijin is a player who has seen his stock increase after his Chicago Jaguars AAU team finished second at the AAU National 17-U tournament in Orlando last weekend. Moses in an intriguing recruit and one to keep an eye on as his stock will continue to rise. Check back at for more updates on Thijin and other recruits.
