For Desean Butler, first comes West Virginia where he'll be on the weekend of September 10th. "In September I'm going to WVU, I'm going to the football game there," Butler said.
As for DePaul, no date is set in stone but likely mid-October after he takes his SAT test.
West Virginia and DePaul may be in the same conference but Morgantown and Chicago are worlds apart culturally, so why these two schools? "The coaching," Butler observed. "In a way they have the same philosophy. They got players that will play in and out on offense." He likes the style that both Jerry Wainwright and John Beilein employ.
Like I said, Butler is taking his time and don't expect a rushed decision. "Likely November, after I take my SAT's, after I visit DePaul, I'll probably decide," Butler remarked after being asked when he will make up his mind on
which Big East school will be his next destination.
Butler is currently working out and improving his game. I asked what his goals are for the upcoming season at Bloomfield Tech, and only one word was necessary. "Championship," Desean declared.
Butler will have his work cut out for him, but don't put it past him.
