China Threatt Commits to DePaul

China Threatt, a 5-9 senior guard at Avondale high school in Auburn Hills, Michigan has decided to attend DePaul University next year. China will play basketball for Coach Doug Bruno's Blue Demons beginning in 2006.

Threatt joins Joliet Catholic Academy guard Samantha Quigley and Incarnate Word Academy's Felicia Chester in the Demons 2006 recruiting class. China had also considered scholarship offers from Syracuse, Minnesota, Marquette, UNLV, & Miami.

Threatt committed to Blue Demons coach Doug Bruno while on an official visit to the DePaul campus in Chicago yesterday. "Coach Bruno is real nice," said China. "I think he is a good coach. With the team, everybody gets along. I thought I fit in better at DePaul with the way they play and their style of play."

Threatt's Avondale team is currently 9-0 and is ranked number one in the state of Michigan. Threatt will join two other Michigan natives – sisters Rachael and Erin Carney on next year's squad.

China has fully recovered from a season ending knee injury that she suffered one year ago. She spent the summer playing on the AAU circuit for the Michigan Crossover team.
