Will Walker Signs LOI to Play for DePaul

CHICAGO – Bolingbrook (Ill.) High School standout Will Walker has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play basketball at DePaul it was announced today by Blue Demon head coach Jerry Wainwright.

"We are thrilled that Will has decided to join the Blue Demon basketball family" Wainwright said. "He is a skilled guard who also has the ability to score while still getting his teammates involved in the offense. Will is a tremendous addition to our program as we continue the challenge of BIG EAST basketball."

Walker, a 6-0, 165-pound guard, averaged 24 points, five assists and four steals per game as a junior. A starter since his freshman year, Walker has earned high honorable mention All-American honors by Street & Smith's, was listed among the top 10 players in the state of Illinois by Chicagohoops.com and was listed as the 11th-best point guard in the nation by RivalsHoops.com, the 13th-best by Scout.com and the 14th-best by Hoopmasters.com. Walker was also tabbed the 65th best senior in the nation by RivalsHoops.com, the 76th-best by Lindy's and the 78th-best by CBS Sportsline.com.

The Blue Demons begin the 2005-06 season, it's first as a member of the BIG EAST Conference and Wainwright's first as head coach, on Saturday when they host Bradley at the Allstate Arena. Game time is 1 p.m. (CST).
