Will Walker Diary

Future Blue Demon and Bolingbrook High senior guard Will Walker shouts out to his fans in this report. Walker updates us on his first few games with his undefeated Bolingbrook Raiders team, talks about future teammate Manual Cass, and gives his thoughts on the current DePaul team.

What's up, everyone? It seemed like school was taking forever for the season to get here. I'm happy it's here now.

It was a real good first week. I knew I just wanted to start off well. I knew people would be talking and I didn't want anyone to have anything to say about my game. The first game we played JCA, Joliet Catholic, and we beat them by 37. I had 27 in only 17 minutes. Then on the Wednesday we played Providence. I scored 23 points on them and I didn't play the fourth quarter. It's a good sign when I don't have to play, but I still want to get out there. I always want to be out on the court. I can't stand to not be out on the court.

Then we just beat Romeoville by 25 and I had 31 on them. They ran a lot of box-and-ones on me and I got to play the whole game. That's always a big rivalry game. It's always going to be. I feel I can't lose to that team every time I step out on the court.

The key against the box-and-one is really just keep moving. When you keep moving, it's hard for the defense to stay in condition. You got to keep running that defender to wear them out. I had to keep running off picks. I'm in pretty good in shape. I played the whole game. They kept putting fresh legs on me. Their man kept getting tired and I kept going.

I've been keeping track of DePaul. I seen the highlights yesterday. I haven't been able to get to a game yet. I hope to get to a couple. I've been watching the highlights and listening up on them and talking to coach. They beat Northwestern the other day and coach said they looked pretty good. Against Bradley, they had too many turnovers. They haven't found someone who can knock down the shot consistently. They hope I'll be the one to do that next year.

It was great that DePaul signed Manual Cass. It's great to have another guy from Illinois coming with me and another big man. I've never talked to him and I've only seen him play a couple times. I've only heard good things about him.

That's all for now. I want to give a shout out to my family, everybody at DePaul, Talei and everybody at Off Tha Bloc clothing and the whole Bolingbrook team.
