Chicago's Best at Proviso West

The best high school holiday hoops can be found at the Proviso West Holiday Tournament Tuesday through Friday this week. Glenbrook North, Homewood-Flossmoor, St. Joseph's, Proviso East, Von Steuben, Hillcrest, and Julian are all top 25 area teams that will be competing in Hillside.

The tournament will feature some of the top rated players in the state in Glenbrook North's Jon Scheyer, Proviso East's Brian Carlwell and Jacob Pullen, and St. Joseph's Demetri McCamey, Jonathan Peoples, and Evan Turner.

Former tournament director Joe Spagnolo has returned to Proviso West and has made significant improvements in the tournament. New this year are lower ticket prices and both live audio and video broadcasts of the games on the internet. "It is great to be back in a position that has been so much fun and so rewarding in the past" said Spagnolo. "We will be committed to restoring the highest positive professional image of the tournament and continuing to make it the best it can be for years to come."
