Chris Wright: New School Enters Picture

Chris Wright is one of the most sought after point guards in the class of 2007. This elite point guard is ranked 17th amongst the Scout.com Class of 2007 prospects and is now getting interest from a new school. Discover all of the details in this report.

Chris Wright is battling back from mononucleosis and hopes to display his skills at Nike Camp in Indianapolis this weekend. Since reopening his recruiting earlier this year, the phone has been ringing off the hook in the Wright household. "I'm hearing from a lot of Big East schools – Georgetown and Pittsburgh," said Wright.

The reason that Wright is hearing from Pitt coach Jamie Dixon has to do with the Panthers' recent hiring of David Cox as Director of Basketball operations. Cox was an administrator at St. John's College Preparatory High School in Washington D.C. where Wright attends school. Cox was also the coach for the DC Assault AAU team.

Is Cox's hiring a factor in Wright's recruitment? "It's definitely a factor," said Wright. "Actually he was the assistant principal at my school. We had a very good relationship before he went to the University of Pittsburgh."

The 6-1 point guard from DC is also receiving interest from Clemson, DePaul, Miami, N.C. State, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest, but is far from deciding which schools he will visit. "I haven't really narrowed it down yet," Chris said.
