Clarence Holloway: Center of Attention

Clarence Holloway is a well-travelled seven foot center from Chicago and looks to be a high-major prospect in the class of 2007. In this report, we check in on how Holloway is doing at his most recent stop and which college coaches have been in to see him. Learn what schools have offered Holloway scholarships and which one he has visited.

Clarence Holloway, a 7-0 265 lb. center from Chicago, has bounced around quite a bit. His latest stop has been Boys to Men Math and English Academy in Chicago. Holloway had originally committed to the Louisville Cardinals for the class of 2005 while at Chicago Harlan high school. After not qualifying for the Cardinals, Clay spent time at IMG Academy prep school in Florida last season. Holloway then declared himself eligible for the 2006 NBA Draft, and subsequently withdrew from the draft.

Now back in his hometown, Clay Holloway is getting ready for the upcoming season at Boys to Men Academy. He is working on both his body and his mind. "Right now he's just working on getting better and getting his body right," said Boys to Men coach Loren Jackson. "He's getting better every day though."

Holloway recently received a visit from the Louisville coach that he orginally committed to coming out of high school. "Coach Pitino was in to see both him and Mac (Koshwal)," Jackson remarked.

DePaul Blue Demons coach Jerry Wainwright has also been to open gyms at Boys to Men to see Holloway in action.

Thus far Clay has received scholarship offers from Connecticut, DePaul, Indiana, and Lousiville. Holloway also took an unofficial visit to Bloomington, Indiana and spent time with Hoosier's coach Kelvin Sampson.
