Michael Bizoukas Talks About Commitment

During an unofficial visit to DePaul University this weekend, Munster, Indiana point guard Michael Bizoukas decided to join the DePaul Blue Demons class of 2007. Hear what Mike has to say about his decision in this report.

Michael Bizoukas, a 6-1 point guard from Muster, Indiana is happy to be a future DePaul Blue Demon. "I'm really excited about it," said Mike. "I loved everything about the visit on Saturday. I'm glad I made the decision that I did."

Bizoukas joins Mac Koshwal, Matija Poscic, and Dar Tucker in the 2007 recruiting class for DePaul. "I'm coming in with a really good recruiting class," Mike said. "I think we have a bunch of different pieces in that recruiting class and I think I can contribute to the team's success. I'm looking forward to that."

Mike is accustomed to playing an uptempo style of basketball. "In terms of the style that I like to play," said Bizoukas. "I like to get up and down, but I'll do whatever the team has to do."

What does Bizoukas bring to the table basketball-wise? "My ballhandling and passing ability are my biggest strengths. I love to pass and get guys involved. I'm kind of a pass first point guard, but I can also score."

Mike is pleased that he ended up going to DePaul in the Big East conference over his first choice – Northern Iowa from the Missouri Valley. "It's been one of my goals to always play against the best competition," said Bizoukas. "I feel that makes you a better player. I just want to be a better player. That was one of my factors in choosing DePaul, because I know it's great competition. I'm just looking forward to the challenge."

Bizoukas is also looking forward to the coming season with the Munster Mustangs. "We haven't gotten out of sectionals in a long time, that's our main goal right now."

It was Derrick Rose's decision to commit to Memphis that helped open the door for Bizoukas to grab a spot on the DePaul roster. "Coach DeCesare and Coach Wainwright contacted my coach before, but they weren't that hard on me, because they were recruiting Derrick Rose. Once things cleared up with him, that helped my decision."

Bizoukas couldn't be more pleased than to be going to DePaul. "The campus was great," Mike said. "I liked the city. It's really close to home and my family is going to be able to see me play. It's a great opportunity for me."
