"I certainly feel that Jeremiah is one of the best all-around guards in his class," Wainwright said. "He has great leadership qualities and the toughness to compete and be successful in big games; that toughness comes from his learning how to play basketball on the playgrounds of Chicago. We are excited to have a local player and his family part of our program at DePaul."
A Chicago native, Jeremiah Kelly is a 6-1, 165-pound guard who is currently attending American Christian Academy in Philadelphia. Last season he played for Boys to Men Academy in Chicago where he averaged 18 points, six assists and three steals while shooting 42-percent from the floor and 90-percent from the free throw line.
Kelly is ranked as the nation's 15th-best point guard by Scout.com. Lindy's lists Kelly as the 94th-best senior in the nation while The Sporting News has him listed as a High Honorable Mention All-American.
Kelly joins foward Devin Hill in the class of 2008 for DePaul.
