DePaul's Quigley is Big East Player of Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – DePaul's Allie Quigley and Syracuse's Erica Morrow earn BIG EAST women's basketball weekly honors, giving their respective programs its first awards of the year. Quigley was named BIG EAST Player of the Week after leading DePaul to two wins last week, while Morrow is the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, also leading the Orange to two victories.

Quigley averaged 25.0 points and 26.0 minutes per game as the Blue Demons had two road wins at Northern Illinois (90-58) on Dec. 17 and at Northwestern (102-64) on Dec. 20. Quigley was 20-of-31 from the field for a 64.5 shooting percentage to go along with 5.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. The senior guard totaled a season-high 31 points, with five assists, four rebounds and two steals at Northwestern. She scored 22 points in the first half, while playing only 26 minutes. Earlier in the week, Quigley tallied 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists in just 18 minutes of playing time. This week's honor marks the second time in her career that she has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week. She earned the recognition last season following a career-high 38 points against Rutgers on Dec. 7.

Morrow averaged 12.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.5 assists in Syracuse's two home victories last week. Morrow shot 50.0 percent (8-of-16) from the field and was 6-of-9 from the foul line. The freshman guard posted 11 points, four rebounds, four steals and two assists in SU's 85-56 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Dec. 19. Morrow followed that performance with a 13-point and six rebound effort in the Orange's 81-35 victory against Saint Peter's on Dec. 22. She also added three assists and two steals.
