SoCal Big Man Visits Chicago

Ribet Academy big man Krys Faber blew into the Windy City this week for an official visit to the campus of DePaul University. Hear what the big guy from Los Angeles has to say about his trip.

Krys Faber, is a 6-11 big man from Southern California who averaged 15.8 points, 17.5 rebounds and 5.6 blocked shots as a senior for the Ribet Academy Frogs. Faber's official visit to DePaul was his third having visited Minnesota and Northern Illinois last autumn.

"It was a pretty fun trip," Faber said about his first time in Chicago. "I got to go out and see what Chicago had to offer. We went downtown, Navy Pier, Soldier Field and sites like that."

Faber got to hang out with the Blue Demons on campus. "I met the whole team," Krys said. "We got along well. They're a nice group of people."

Krys is undecided on what he would like to study in college, but the academic environment at DePaul appealed to him. "I liked it. I really liked it. I got to sit in on an Art class. They have small class sizes, which is really cool."

"Overall it was a pretty comfortable visit," Faber remarked. "I got to meet Coach (Jerry) Wainwright and his family."

Going into the visit, Faber indicated that Minnesota was his favorite, but afterwards feels that DePaul and Minnesota are "neck and neck".

Faber is looking to sign during the upcoming NCAA spring signing period. Besides Minnesota, DePaul and Northern Illinois, Krys is also considering UCLA, USC, South Florida, and St. John's. USC coach Tim Floyd recently offered Faber a scholarship. Faber is also good friends with Malik Story who has committed to the Trojans.

So what's next for Krys Faber? He is currently mulling over possible visits to St. John's and South Florida and is looking to make a decision during the spring signing period.
