Game Preview

Cincinnati is coming off a 67-63 home overtime loss to Seton Hall. Guard Deonta Vaughn led the Bearcats with 18 points. Cincinnati has lost five of their last six games, including their last three straight.

Cincinnati finished the Big East regular season with the #9 seed while last place DePaul has the #16 seed. The winner of this game advances on to the second round on Wednesday to take on the #8 seed Providence.

The Blue Demons might actually have a chance in this one as they lost by just four points to the Bearcats back on January, 17th at Allstate Arena. Cincinnati escaped with a 59-55 win in that contest.

With 25.8 seconds left in that game, DePaul's Dar Tucker had an opportunity to take the lead for the Demons as his three point shot fell off the mark.

Cincinnati won that game by keeping DePaul off the glass as they outrebounded the Demons by a 36-24 margin. DePaul sophomore forward Mac Koshwal was held to a season-low five rebounds.

So for DePaul to have a chance at keeping their season alive, they need to really focus on the boards this time around.
