Dar Tucker, a sophomore forward from DePaul, declared for early entry in the 2009 NBA Draft, but was not selected.
The team's mini-camp begins today and runs through Sunday, July 5th. The Jazz begin play in the Orlando Pro Summer League on Monday.
Tucker's first game in a Jazz uniform will be Monday, July 6th versus the Boston Celtics. The team will play five games from July 6th to the 10th.
Also invited to the team are the Jazz's 2009 draft picks Eric Maynor and Goran Suton along with 2008 first-round draft pick Kosta Koufos. Also expected to participate in camp are former Jazz training camp invitee Kevin Lyde, Utah Flash players Andre Ingram and Kevin Kruger, and former Utah State Aggie Gary Wilkinson. The rest of the roster includes former NBA players James Augustine, Cedric Bozeman and Justin Reed, in addition to rookies Jimmy Baron, Josh Duncan, Marquette's Wes Mathews, Tucker and Larry Turner. Charlotte Bobcats second-round pick Derrick Brown will also compete for the Jazz entry since the Bobcats are not fielding a summer league team of their own.
Tucker, a 6-5 sophomore forward from Saginaw, Michigan, led DePaul in scoring this season at 18.5 ppg. Dar shot 39.0% from the field and 28.4% on three pointers. Dar averaged 5.4 rebounds per game for the Blue Demons.
Dar Tucker's 986 points rank third in DePaul history for freshmen and sophomores behind Mark Aguirre and Quentin Richardson.
Tucker's 592 points as a sophomore are tied for eighth on DePaul's season chart with David Booth (1989-90).
As a freshman, he picked up BIG EAST All-Rookie Team honors after averaging 13.6 points and 4.8 rebounds in 29 games. He started eight times during the 2007-08 season and averaged 23.6 minutes per game while shooting 50-of-156 (.321) from three-point range.
