2012 Guard C.J. Jones Receives First Offer

Curtis "C.J." Jones has picked up his first college scholarship offer. Learn more about the promising Class of 2012 combo guard from Orr High School in Chicago in this report.

C.J. Jones is the centerpiece of a young up-and-coming Orr High School team in Chicago's Public League. The young combo guard has started to attract interest from colleges while on the AAU circuit this summer.

Orr coach Louis Adams confirmed that DePaul is the first school to offer a scholarship to Jones.

"Right now DePaul is showing a lot of interest, in fact they've offered him," said Adams.

The DePaul coaching staff observed Jones at a showcase at Orr High School last month and at the End of Season Showdown in Merrillville, Indiana last week. Jones finished out the AAU season playing for the 15-U Illinois Wolverines team.

Jones is best described as a combo guard. During his freshman year at Orr, Jones scored in bunches. "He put up a quite a bit of points against Whitney Young and North Lawndale this season," Adams said.

"We like his upside," Adams added. "He's a humble kid".

For Jones, it has just begun as interest from other schools will no doubt follow.
