DePaul Men's Basketball Conference Schedule

CHICAGO - The BIG EAST Conference announced today the 2009-10 league schedule that opens for the Blue Demons on Monday, Dec. 28 at Pittsburgh. The conference slate features nine road and nine home games with Allstate Arena visits by Georgetown, Louisville, Marquette and Syracuse.

DePaul heads to the Petersen Events Center for the Monday night BIG EAST opener against Pittsburgh before returning to Allstate Arena to open the home conference schedule against the Georgetown Hoyas. The Blue Demons and Hoyas tangle on Sunday, Jan. 3.

Picked by many preseason prognosticators as the favorite to win the BIG EAST, the Villanova Wildcats are the third league opponent for the Blue Demons. DePaul heads to Villanova on Wednesday, Jan. 6 to face the Wildcats at The Pavilion.

Just over a week later, DePaul hosts Providence at Allstate Arena in a nationally-televised contest on either ESPN or ESPN2. Tipoff in Rosemont is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT against the Friars on Jan. 14.

DePaul faces two of its three home-and-away opponents in consecutive games against St. John's and Marquette. The Blue Demons travel to Carnesecca Arena on Jan. 17 before hosting the Golden Eagles on Jan. 20 at Allstate Arena. DePaul is facing Marquette twice for the second straight season and the third time in five BIG EAST seasons. A year ago, the Golden Eagles swept the season series with wins at the Bradley Center and Allstate Arena. St. John's and DePaul also played the home-and-home series during the 2006-07 season while Rutgers is a two-time league opponent for the first time. The Blue Demons host the Scarlet Knights on Feb. 16 before traveling to Piscataway, N.J. on Feb. 27.

A trip to the Joyce Center to face Notre Dame is slated for Saturday, Jan. 23. Following the game with the Irish, the Blue Demons play back-to-back home conference games for the first time on Jan. 26 and 30. West Virginia heads to Rosemont on Jan. 26 before Syracuse visits the Allstate Arena on Saturday, Jan. 30.

The return trip to Milwaukee is scheduled for Feb. 3 as the Blue Demons and Golden Eagles face off at the Bradley Center. The match-up is scheduled for a 6 p.m. CT start on ESPN2.

Marquette represents the first of three straight road games as the Blue Demons go to Storrs, Conn. on Feb. 6 for a Saturday game at Gampel Pavilion. A week later on Feb. 14, DePaul is at Seton Hall before hosting Rutgers two days later on Feb. 16 at Allstate Arena.

Louisville makes a visit to Allstate Are na on Saturday, Feb. 20 to end the two-game homestand before two straight road games. The first of the back-to-back trips is to Cincinnati on Feb. 24 before the return trip to Rutgers on Feb. 27.

DePaul closes the regular season with a two-game homestand against USF and St. John's. The Bulls head north from Tampa for a game on Mar. 2 before the finale against St. John's on Friday, Mar. 5.

The BIG EAST Championship is scheduled for Mar. 9-13 at Madison Square Garden. The remaining game times, television information and radio broadcast information will announced as it becomes available.
