Brandon Young Enjoys DePaul's Blue Madness

Class of 2010 point guard Brandon Young enjoyed his official visit to DePaul's Lincoln Park campus in September so much, he decided to come back and do it again. This time, the point guard from the nation's capitol came for DePaul's Blue Madness. Hear what the future Blue Demon had to say in this report.

Brandon Young chose DePaul over Big East programs Georgetown, Marquette and South Florida following his official visit in mid-September. The 6-3, 175 lb. point guard from Edison-Friendship Charter school in Washington, D.C. recently talked about that decision. What mattered to Young the most was the staff at DePaul.

"Just being around the right people and seeing that they're going to give me support," said Young, who is's 29th ranked point guard in the nation. "They are just nice and genuine people. They gave me a lot of support, so I felt like that's the place I needed to be at."

Brandon returned to campus on Friday with his family for the season kick-off party that is Blue Madness.

"I loved it," Young said. "I liked to see people dunk and everything."

During his first visit to DePaul, Young met his future class of 2010 teammate Moses Morgan.

"We got to talk a little bit," Young said. "He said that he can shoot the ball well. I told him I'm a point guard, I will get you the ball so you can shoot it."

While on campus this time, Young got to meet his other future classmate in 6-9 forward Walter Pitchford from New Creations Prep in Indiana, who was on his official visit at DePaul.

"I just met him, he's a true person," Brandon said. "The big guy will help me out too."

After seeing his future teammates at Blue Madness, Young is looking forward to next season.

"I'm very excited about coming here next year," said Young. "I'm not too anxious, but I'd like to come here."

"I just can't wait to get here and show the fans what I can do for them."
