#21 DePaul's Balance Bounces Ramblers

CHICAGO - What a difference a year makes. When DePaul and Loyola played last year, it was all DePaul could do to stave off the upset as it beat the Ramblers 68-64. This year, Loyola fell behind by as many as 43 points.

DePaul (6-2) used a solid team effort with four players in double figures and all players who saw action scoring as the Blue Demons beat Loyola 73-30 Sunday night at McGrath Arena.

Freshman Katherine Harry led the Blue Demons with 16 points on 7-10 shooting from the field. She paired with Felicia Chester to help DePaul outscore the Ramblers 36-14 in the paint. Chester finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.

DePaul led 36-14 at the half on Courtney Webb's jumper from the left corner with two seconds left.

The Blue Demons led 36-21 with 17:18 left in the game when a jumper by freshman Anna Martin ignited a 33-7 run which was finished by a Harry lay up to put DePaul ahead 69-28 with 4:08 left in the contest.

Harry's steal at half court and subsequent three-point play with 2:01 finished out the scoring and gave DePaul its largest lead of the game.

The Demons forced 28 turnovers and had 16 steals for the game.

Loyola (4-3) was led by Elyse VanBogaert's 10 points.

DePaul concludes its home schedule for 2009. Next up for the Blue Demons is a match up with #2 Stanford on December 13th. DePaul returns home on January 5, 2010 for a Big East contest with 2008-09 NCAA runner-up Louisville.

Notes: Sam Quigley corralled her 200th career rebound...Chester needs three steals to reach 100 career steals...DePaul now leads the series versus Loyola 33-9 and has won the last 16 contests.
