Official Helped Duke For 3 Star TE

David Reeves (6-5, 245, TE) says his official visit to Duke in early December carries some weight

With the class of 2011 wrapping up there is one position of need still on the Duke recruiting board: Tight End. To that end the Blue Devils have been working on a couple of prospects, one who has already been on campus for what turned out to be a very convincing visit.

"I visited Duke in early December," said Greensboro (Ala.) tight end David Reeves. "It was a great visit and I was really impressed with everything I saw there and heard from the coaches."

What the 6-foot-5, 245 pound three star prospect found and heard was a pitch to come in and immediately be part of the Duke offense.

"They are recruiting me to play tight end and I could have a chance to get on the field early on. They have been very up front about what they want and need to finish up their class. Coach Cutcliffe talked about how they use their tight ends and how he liked my athleticism and ability."

Having visited Duke, it appears as though Reeves will make a few more trips - though each program will be charged with living up to the experience he enjoyed while on his visit to Durham.

"Duke is definitely in front and will the visit I am comparing everyone to."

With offers from the Blue Devils, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, South Florida and Troy, Reeves knows it is getting down to crunch time and believes he will have a decision shortly after he visits South Florida in mid January.

"I kind of feel like I have an idea, but I have some more visits to take."

Reeves is rated as the No. 48 tight end in the country according to Scout.com.
